I’ve just arrived in Washingon D.C and thought I would tell you guys about some of my favorite restaurants and must see’s! My family came out to the east coast because my dad had a conference in D.C, so my mom, sisters as I have been exploring the cities and sightseeing!

We are staying at the Marriott Wardman Park by the Smithsonian National Zoo! This area is surrounded by so many fun little restaurants and shops and is close to the subway for easy access to all the monuments!

Our first day here was jam-packed trying to see all the monuments and the White House so it’s safe to say my feet are about to fall off (after walking 5 miles a day, at minimum, I highly suggest you bring comfy shoes)!  The Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial are super interesting to see, but they are super busy with tourists all day so I recommend going either early in the morning or at sunset! I have always been very interested in history and the Museum of Natural History has always been one of my favorites! The International Spy Museum and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum are very interesting to visit also!

All of the food we’ve eaten here has been delicious! Some places I highly recommend are Paul, Ebbit Grill, Founding Farmers and Hazel! Old Ebbit is the oldest dining saloons in D.C and is just minutes away from the White House! It’s definitely a must to enjoy an American meal before leaving the city! My personal favorite on the menu was their Cannelloni di Casa. Founding Farmers, a restaurant that is owned by more than 40,000 American farming families, is another great restaurant that serves more comfort style foods. My family really enjoyed their chicken and waffles!

For a sweet treat, Baked and Wired was one of the best cupcake shoppes I’ve ever eaten at! The cupcakes were divine and they have the most interesting flavors like “Dirty Chai” and “Uniporn & Rainho”.  My favorite was the “Razmanian Devil”! It’s down in Georgetown on the Potomac river, so grab a bench and watch the sun set on the river with a yummy cupcake in hand!

Los Tres Ojos

Samaná, Dominican Republic has easily become one of my favorite places in the world!  If you haven’t been, you need to start planning a trip ASAP.  I got the opportunity to venture down to this magical place sometime last year with my parents travel company and I wanted to share some of the highlights of this unforgettable trip!  Five minutes after stepping off the plane I was immediately blown away by its beauty; the lush palm trees, crystal blue water and some of the nicest people I’ve ever met made me instantly fall in love.  I went with about 30 other people and we stayed in 2 house side by side with our own private beach. Being able to watch the beautiful sunrise and sunsets from my bedroom every day was the hardest goodbye!  We visited Los Tres Ojos on our second day and wandered around the caves; the water it so clear you could easily see 20 feet down!  I think my favorite part of the entire trip was when we rented a boat for the whole day and just relaxed, floated around the island and enjoyed the sun and cool water.  I truly had an amazing experience in the Dominican and I can’t wait to go back!

Until next time, Dominican!

There’s a lot to say about Destin. It’s one of my family’s favorite vacation spots! The white sand beaches and the crystal clear blue water make for the perfect weekend getaway! This year, my family rented a house right on the beach and it was perfect! It’s so nice to slow down a little and relax on the beach for a while.  The Destin Commons is a great area for music, entertainment and great restaurants!  We spent many nights there enjoying friends and food! On chillier days (or when you’re too sunburnt to sit by the beach any longer) theres plenty of cute little shops all around!  I picked up this cute jumpsuit from GAP and let me tell you, it might be the comfiest piece of clothing I have ever worn. Seriously, it feels like you’re walking around in pajamas.  Dress it up by wearing some cute platform sandals or throw it over your swimsuit as a cover up!  Did you guys go anywhere fun for spring break?!
