Let’s be honest, we’ve all had those days where we just sit in bed or on the couch all day and binge watch our favorite Netflix series. We all like to snack on something when we’re watching a movie or t.v show, but sometimes they aren’t the healthiest choices! I’ve been trying to transition into a more healthy lifestyle, but it’s super hard for me to give up all of the yummy snacks I eat. I’ve found all of these snacks listed below to be healthy, yet delicious and they satisfy all of my cravings for sweet and salty foods!
Frozen grapes are one of my favorite snacks because they are delicious and you can eat a lot of them without feeling guilty! They are filled with natural sugars but don’t have any carbs, proteins or preservatives in them! All you do is pop a bag of grapes in the freezer for a couple hours and pull them out when your favorite show is starting! These will totally satisfy your craving for ice cream without all the calories! You could also add some of these frozen grapes to a glass of water, a mimosa or cocktail to add some flavor and keep your drink cold!
Instead of going for the super sugary and oily popcorn, pick a lightly salted or lightly buttered popcorn! Skinny Pop is one of my favorite brands and it’s delicious! Original Skinny Pop only has 39 calories per cup, so eat up!
Peanut Butter- Cinnamon Yogurt with Apple Slices
I’m not sure if this is a well known snack or something I just made up one night when I was starving, either way its delicious! Just combine vanilla greek yogurt (any kind of yogurt will work but my favorite is Chobani or Oikos), some peanut butter and some cinnamon and mix it all together! Cut up some apple slices and you’re good to go!
Healthy trail mix
You can buy different mixtures of trail mix at any local grocery store, but sometimes its fun to make your own and pick out all your favorite nuts and fruits! I like to add banana chips, almonds and cashews (I always make sure to buy the unsalted nuts), dried cranberries and sometimes dark chocolate chips for some sweetness! This is such a good and filling snack!
Frozen Dark Chocolate Banana Bites
These are by far my favorite thing to snack on! I’m a huge chocoholic so of course I love these, but I only use dark chocolate! Dark chocolate is actually healthy and has so many benefits so you feel less guilty about eating so many of these little treats! Just slice up some bananas into little round bites, freeze them for a couple hours, then dip them in dark chocolate and freeze them for a couple more hours! If you want to, you could even add some peanut butter to them as well!
Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds
Okay, clearly I love chocolate, but I’m a firm believer that everything is fine for you in moderation. I always make sure to buy the unsalted bag of almonds because I don’t want all that extra sodium and salt. Just dip the almonds in some melted dark chocolate, let them cool off for a little bit and then enjoy! You could even sprinkle some of these in your popcorn!
